Authorless blog?

  • Hello,

    I’m looking to create a website where users can anonymously contribute blog entries in one long rolling list. Is it possible to do this with wordpress? The only requirements are that anyone can post to the blog without registering/logging in, and that there is a flagging system in place so that users can report spam and have it automatically removed (after x number of flags). I would really appreciate a brief recommendation as to how to accomplish this. Thanks in advance.

  • I dont know. and dont think this is possible. You can set it up so they register an account like you said. Or the other way is to register an account that has permissions to post and put the username and password for the account on the home page for people to use. Although i think that you’ll have a hard time finding the part about marking spam.

    If you treated people posts as ‘comments’, then you could write a theme to only display the wordpress ‘comments’. Im not sure how to deal with spam in a community orientated way tho …
