Authors cannot edit others’ drafts

Is there any way to allow author role users to edit other users’ pages in “draft” state?

Example:
The editor creates a page and leaves it as a “draft” (not published).
Then the author comes in and should finish this page, but can’t make any edits to it.

I found there is a workaround: If the editor set the author as an author of that page (post), than the author can edit it. But it’s not practical beucase only one author can cooperate on that page.
