Author’s profile in the sidebar?

Is there a way to pull the text entered in the “Profile” box -the one in the WP admin interface- to display on the blog? I’d like to set up a small description of the author in there and be able to display it in my sidebar without having to insert it with HTML in the index page.
That way all I would have to do if I want to change it would be to edit it in the “Profile” tab of the WP admin interface and update it.
I tried searching for this but nothing really came up.
Any ideas are appreciated.
