• Hi,

I have created a WordPress site with two admins which can log in to edit all areas of the site. The Thirsk Churches Together website provides details of local churches in our community.

However, I need to enable local churches to log in to the website and edit a single post for their church to update services etc. I have created the accounts, however when I go to the post to set the author using WordPress’ standard feature it will not let me change it to the account for the church I want to be able to edit the post.

Furthermore, when local churches log in with their ‘Author’ account details they are all sent to the 404 error page which shows a ‘Nothing Found’ message, although the URL clearly shows ‘https://www.thirskchurchestogether.co.uk/wp-admin/’.

So, I need the following help:
    1. How can I set individual authors for particular posts, is there a plugin for this or a fix?
    2. What do I need to do to fix the login issue and enable authors to go to the dashboard.
    3. Also, local churches will not be computer literate so if I could redirect them to a specific URL relating to the post for their church that would be great!

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

    Thanks,
    Bradley Agnew

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme and the default permalink structure with all plugins deactivated?
