• Hi Again, I’m having problems with sending email from WP. When a new user registers they don’t receive an email. When I try to go in and say to send me the password (forogt password) I get the following error:
“The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…

I’m trying to set this up so anyone can register for the Blog. Once a user registers they would get approved and provided a role. Thanks again in advance for your help.

Did you contact the host to find out what they did and what the workaround is on that server?

I will look into this right away. Would this be something I can set from my panel?

I don’t think so. I think it’s a setting in the overall php setup for the server.

Keep in mind you’re on a windows server, right?

Ok, they advised me that the server is running blatt.exe and that function is enabled. The server is IIS6 – do I need to be running apache to make this all work?

I can’t give you a definitive answer – for you, your situation…. I CAN say that after all the years I’ve spent with machines and online, there is NO WAY I would allow any site I run to be hosted on a windows server.

    But that’s just me. YMMV.
