Hi guys, maybe I’m wrong, but I thought the plugin had the option to automatically redirect a non-existing page (404 error) to a similar existing page.

I am testing it on my website https://conectabogados.es but I think is not working properly, for example:

    https://conectabogados.es/archivos/tag/administracion-de-justicia

This page doesn’t exist anymore, but there is a similar page, and the plugin is not redirecting it. It shows the 404 error page as usual, I temporarily set it to redirect 404 to my home, but I’d like to know how I can achieve this. Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi. The plugin redirects to similar pages based on the URL. So if the page name is exactly the same, but the URL is completely different, it won’t find the similar page. Are the URLs similar? You can test the plugin by going to a working page and then adding the number 1 to the end of it, for example. e.g. if the working URL is https://www.site.com/some-page-that-works/ then you can enter the URL https://www.site.com/some-page-that-works1 and see if it redirects to the correct page.

Also there are settings that can affect the results, like how similar two URLs have to be for a redirect to happen, and whether automatic redirects should happen at all.

If you want to look into the details more I suggest turning on the Debug log in the settings under “Advanced Settings Etc” (at the bottom), taking a screenshot of the settings at the top of the settings page, and including the screenshot here. Also if you could paste the contents of the debug file (the link is under Advanced Settings Etc again) to pastebin.com and then include the link here that would be useful. Do not paste the debug file here as it’s too big and will break the wordpress forum.

Basically the debug log would tell us the settings and (apparently) that no matching page was found. So it would only be helpful in confirming what I wrote above.

    I hope that’s helpful.

For example I used the existing page …/uncategorized/politica-de-cookies/ and typed in …/uncategorized/politica-de-cookies1 and I was redirected to the correct page.
