    Hi,

Can you try renewing the unit cache by going to Dashboard -> Auto Amazon Links -> Manage Units -> Renew Cache (of your unit)?

The 429 Too Many Requests error is sort of common and you’ll see it occasionally. But if you keep getting it, there might be a problem with your PA-API keys. You want to make sure that your keys are okay by testing with ScratchPad.

Let me know how it goes.

I keep getting that after renewing the keys. and on Scratchpad I get this “Error! TooManyRequests
The request was denied due to request throttling. Please verify the number of requests made per second to the Amazon Product Advertising API.”

    What is going on?

Maybe you haven’t made actual referrals in last 30 days, which is required to perform PA-API requests. Check what Amazon says below,

Note that your account will lose access to Product Advertising API 5.0 if it has not generated referring sales for a consecutive 30-day period. If you lose access to Product Advertising API 5.0, you can continue to use other product linking tools, such as Site Stripe and generate revenue. You will regain access to Product Advertising API 5.0 within two days after your referred sales are shipped.

If it’s not the case, check how many PA-API requests you have by going to Dashboard -> Auto Amazon Links -> Report -> PA-API Request Counter and tell me how many requests you have. Also, let me know other plugins that perform PA-API requests if you have.

I have… I created a “Category unit” and it works. It seems to be the contextual ones that don’t work.

As for counts, Yesterday(Aug 25) was 29, today was 9.

So you don’t have much access to the API with the plugin. Make sure there is no other plugins performing PA-API requests that exceeds the limit (see below) and you are not using the same API keys on other sites.

TPD – Transactions per day, refers to the maximum number of API calls you can make in one day. If Associate has 1 TPS and 8640 TPD, then maximum of 1 request can be sent per second and 8640 per day. Even if 1 TPS is there, once TPD is exhausted requests will be throttled.

In any case, if ScratchPad gives you an error, it cannot be helped however.

If you have actual referrals that are physically shipped in last 30 days, you might want to try renewing your PA-API keys, which can be done in the Amazon Associates site (Menu -> Tools -> Product Advertising API, see).

If renewing the keys doesn’t help, you should contact the Amazon Associates support and tell them your keys keep getting 429 Too Many Requests despite of actual referrals.
