Like others here, my site used to publish automatically, but it has now stopped.

When I try to publish manually, it suggests that it has worked, but actually doesn’t. I have cleared settings to no avail.

    Hi @neiljordan,

I have noticed that you don’t have a default share profile selected. On your post edit page do you have a profile that is checked before sharing?

Can you please send a screenshot of your post edit page showing the WP LinkedIn AutoPublish share box. So this should look something like this:?https://ps.w.org/wp-linkedin-auto-publish/assets/screenshot-5.jpg?rev=1876943?I want to be able to see the metabox and also your post title and content. Can you also please provide me with a link to the frontend page of the post as well. Thanks,

    Hi.

I did have a profile selected, but it seems to often become disconnected again. I have again re-selected it.

    Post is: https://www.magicitservices.co.uk/how-to-use-threat-modeling-to-reduce-your-cybersecurity-risk/

    Hi @neiljordan,

Thanks for sharing that info. I assume there’s a featured image as well for the post?
If there is a featured image, could you please try creating a new text post with no featured image and then publishing and seeing if that shares to LinkedIn.

At this stage I am not entirely sure what the issue is, but I want to see if the issue might relate to the image sharing aspect to LinkedIn.

Also, it is my Friday night here so I am finishing, however I will come back Monday morning my time to follow up on things if need be.

    Thanks,

    Hi.

Yes there is a featured image on all of them.

A test post without a featured image appears to work both automatically on posting and manually.

I then added a featured image to it and it still worked when sending manually.

Going back to one of the posts that didn’t work, that still fails to send through although there is still the message that it has been sent.

    Hi @neiljordan,

Ok, I think I might know what the issue is here. I have noticed that since LinkedIn has updated it’s API’s it sometimes fails content because of specific characters (when I say specific characters, sometimes these are rather benign). You said this post didn’t share: https://www.magicitservices.co.uk/how-to-use-threat-modeling-to-reduce-your-cybersecurity-risk/

And based on the screenshot it showed that your share message included the [POST_EXCERPT] are you able to send me what the excerpt is of the post in text form?

    Thanks,

Also, I have also released a new version of the plugin. Can you please update the latest version of the plugin, do a test share, and then go to the “Help” tab, and go to the last question, and then copy and paste the diagnostic info. This new diagnostic information gives me a lot more information compared to before.

    Hi @neiljordan,

According to the log, the API call was successful because a success status was returned. Are you absolutely certain the post was not shared to LinkedIn? When a post needs to be shared to LinkedIn and there’s a featured image as well, 3 API requests need to be made, and all 3 of them were successful according to the log.

    Thanks,

I don’t understand you comment as I said that it worked?

Oh haha, sorry I totally misinterpreted your response, I should have read more carefully. Because you sent the diagnostic information, I assumed it was still not working. Ok that is great to hear, I will mark this as solved ??

I was doing what I was told ??
