Auto delete unconfirmed users after so many days

  • I was wondering if there is a way to automatically delete a subscriber/user within WordPress if they haven’t activated their account (clicked on the email confirmation link) within so many days?

    I looked all over for plugins that offered something like this and I couldn’t seem to find anything. A lot of user manager plugins that offer a TON of other stuff, either making it too bulky of a solution or offered everything but that.

    I used to use Inactive User Deleter plugin for manual purges but it doesn’t seem to work anymore (you search for users, select the ones you want to be deleted, hit delete, and it acts like something happened but they are all still there).

    It would be nice if:
    – a user registers on your WordPress, gets their email, clicks on the link. All is ok.
    – a user registers on your wordpress, never clicks the link, never emails your contact that they didn’t get the email, thus user gets auto-deleted after 90 days (since there is a high chance that the user is a fake/spambot.

    Any thoughts? ??

  • I see you’ve already asked this over at that plugin’s support forum… I used that plugin not that long ago and it still worked. Maybe wait a bit on them to respond.

    I tried Bulk Delete the other day. It didn’t seem to allow the option to narrow things down to unregistered users. It might be a little easier switching to Pro, but I am not going to buy into something blindly without some experience of using it and knowing it is exactly what I need.

    It would be nice if the one I mentioned would get fixed.
