auto detect EAN type

  • Hi, i am using many kinds of EANs for different products, some are UPC-A some are EAN, how should i set up the global settings? is it possible the plugin should automatically detect which kind of code it is based on the number of characters?

    Our EAN for WooCommerce plugin can generate UPC-A and EAN-13 codes. But to assist you better, could you give us more details on what you are trying to achieve with the plugin? Please let us know.

    in the settings of the plugin i can set what kind of code will be used on site, this includes how the product data will be structured, how they will be valadated

    i am using all kind of codes, for some EAN with 13 digits, and for some UPC with 12

    so how should i set the global plugin settings ??

    Hi @abhg613,

    You should set the “Type” option in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > General > EAN Options” to “Automatic (EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, ISBN-13, JAN)”.

    P.S. Although it’s not related to your question – …?plugin can generate UPC-A and EAN-13 codes… – is not entirely correct; the plugin can generate EAN-8 numbers as well.
