Auto email author options?

  • Hi,

    Is it possible to automatically email the author of a guest post when I change the status of their post to “problem post” and when I add a note to inform them then need to change xyz in the post?

    For example I set a guest post to “problem post” and left a note saying they need to re-word some of the post due to poor grammar. So is it possible for the plugin to automatically email that guest author of that change along with the message I left saying what needs to be changed?

    Also, do you know of a plugin I can use to only allow authors to edit their own posts which are currently not published?

    Basically I need to give permission to edit posts which need changes, but don’t want to give access to edit posts which are already live on the site.

    Sorry was being a little blond by the looks of it, the emails where sent to the spam folder for some reason so all is good on that side of things ??

    My question still stands about the editing posts permissions though, I need post authors to only have permission to edit posts which are not published/live on the site?

    Curious, why would you want to let them publish their post, but not edit?

    Because subscribers can submit guest posts, so for security and spam reasons etc I don’t want them to be able to edit their posts once they are live, I should have said subscribers not authors because that’s a different user group.

    Hmm, that’s probably outside the scope of what Edit Flow can handle.

    With how WordPress works, contributors (who can create but not publish posts) can’t edit content published under their name. Authors (who can create and publish posts) can edit published content.

    Ok thanks for trying to help Daniel, I will just have to see how it works out and maybe look into editing user permissions at a later date if I need to ??
