Auto-generated excerpts not working

  • When a post is created I have Zapier create a Facebook post using the title, excerpt and thumbnail but the Facebook post is not showing the excerpt as the field is empty.

    If I log into the site and manually generate excerpts from the plugin settings the excerpt field is populated – but of course it is too late then as Facebook has an incomplete post (no excerpt).

    What would cause the excerpt not to be generated when the publish button is clicked?

    It’s very strange. I tested this functionality on several websites before answering you and it works. :-S
    What version of WordPress are you working on?

    Hi Mathieu,

    I am always using the latest version of WordPress and update themes and plugins as they are released.
