Auto-Generating Single Posts from Multiple Feeds?

  • Can anyone reccommend a good way to automatically generate posts culled from multiple RSS feeds?

    I’m helping set up a group of blogs, each with a single author, and I’d like to autogenerate posts for each blog(say once a day), that contain the title (plus link) and a short excerpt from items in the RSS feeds of the other blogs. This would be used to cross promote the blogs, so readers of one of the blogs would be exposed to posts from the other blogs.

    I’ve found tools that let me show feeditems in a sidebar or on separate pages. I’ve also found tools that let me automatically import items from feeds as individual posts.

    What I really one though is a regular post which itself is generated from items in multiple feeds.

    I don’t have a problem setting up a cron job to run a script that grabs the feeds and submits the posts via some thing like the metaweblog API
