• I am trying to have WordPress generate a close cropped image as a thumbnail. By that I mean that when I upload a larger image, WordPress will produce a crop at a given size, but NOT shrink the image down at all so the resulting thumbnail is a small section (at 1:1 pixel size relative to the original) cropped from the centre of the original image (think Photoshop’s canvas size option.

I’m sure this must be doable, but I’ll be damned if I can work it out!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Can anyone help?

Bump! Someone help us out, please. I’ve scoured the internet for hours looking for this feature in WP post thumbnails, plugins or add-on scripts and it doesn’t look like it exists automatically (yet).

We could just faux crop them with CSS but I really don’t want to do that…
