Auto-Index and sorting

  • I’m having trouble with Auto-Index.

    I have several similar tables with one to three tables of text followed by a column of numbers – but because the numbers are generally over 1000, there is a comma as the thousands separator (I’m in North America where this is standard). So I enclose these numbers in quotes and all is well.

    Is it possible this is preventing auto-index from working correctly? And how do you specify which column ai is supposed to operate upon?
