Hello @matiou:
Our conversation thread reposted from https://wppopupmaker.com/support:
@yogaman5020: The blogindex page template is a default served up by WordPress when no other page template is specified. See the page template hierarchy in the WordPress Codex for details on this (section labeled ‘Overview’).
https://developer.www.ads-software.com/themes/basics/template-hierarchy/
As for targeting ‘categories’, you should be able to do this with the free version of our plugin.
We’ve developed a ‘How To’ article that describes a strategy on how to display popups on multi-language sites.

You may find that our Advanced Targeting Conditions (ATC) plugin extension to Popup Maker provides you with more capacity to accomplish what you want. Just a suggestion.

@matiou: For the categories,i tried by ID, as they have the same name in english or french.but it doesn’t work..
the documentation is too light for advanced user, or complex cases..for example, for page, we can select “page with langue”. But not for hompage or blog index or categories.
As ID doesn’t work, do you have a workaround solution??

@yogaman5020: I was just looking in my local development test site where I run Popup Maker. Using the free version of our plugin, you can target the ‘blogindex’ page on which to activate a popup. In the ‘Conditions’ box (located to the right of the content editor in the Popup Admin), search on the following condition:
‘Posts’ >> ‘BlogIndex’.
If you need to activate popups on the ‘BlogIndex’ page in only a single language (for example, French), include an AND condition (available in the ‘Conditions’ box), and choose another parameter.
For example:
‘Posts’ >> ‘BlogIndex’
AND
‘Posts’ >> ‘With Category’.
Then target all the categories used for posts written in French.
An alternate (and easy way) to target posts or pages in any one language is to purchase and install the Advanced Targeting Conditions plugin extension for Popup Maker.
As was described in the documentation article that I provided to you in my prior post ( https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/344-how-do-i-display-a-popup-on-multiple-language-site ), use the URL Conditions feature of the ATC extension to target pages in any given language by URL or query parameter (eg. https://my-url.com/?lang=fr). Use the extension in combination with the functionality provided with our base plugin (e.g. posts/pages/categories/tags) and you’ve got a very powerful combination to activate a popup on any page or post of your site that you want.
