    Hi,

I have a basic doubt. What I understood from the plugin documentation is that when we activate the plugin the AMP version can be accessed by appending /amp to the end of the URL.

Does it mean that when we open a URL for eg: examplesite.com/post in the laptop I will be taken to normal version and when we open it in mobile it automatically takes me to examplesite.com/post/amp that is the amp version of the page.
    Please confirm.

If the above does not happen, how do I achieve this auto redirection?

    Thanks for your support!

No, if you access a URL in mobile it does not automatically redirect you to the AMP version. The AMP version is what will be linked to from Google Search results on mobile. The AMP version is also linked to in Tweets, Bing searches, Pinterest, etc.

    Hi Weston,

    Thanks for your reply.

Just to summarize. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If you open the URL directly from the browser you will be taken to the normal non AMP version whichever device you open it from.

But if you reach the same URL from a google search that is being done from a mobile device you will be opening the AMP version.
If the same URL is reached from google search from a laptop it will still open the non AMP version.

    Thanks!

@sowmya Yes, if you just go to your website by typing your domain into your browser (e.g. example.com) then you’ll see the non-AMP version in both desktop and mobile. If, however, you do a Google search on mobile, or a Bing search, or click on a link in a Tweet, and if you are on a mobile device, then you’ll get the AMP version instead.
