Auto remove past events from widget calendar

    That’s the intended behavior.

    If you want to hide old events from the widget without deleting them from admin, you could try writing some custom code that either removes old events from the widget, or (this might be easier) doesn’t allow users to view any month older than the current one.

    Thanks for the reply, any pointers on how or where we would go about this seems it would be a great feature for the widget.

    You would need to look at the various filters that EM provides – specifically, take a look at the widget code (look for “WP_Widget” in EM source) to see what filters are available there.
