    Hello,

    Due to pecularity of our language(uzbek based on latin alphabet) we use ’ and ‘ characters and they shouldn’t replace each other, because it’s counted wrong. AFAIK, there’s no keyboard button for ‘ (&lsquo) character, and in posts I’ve to edit manually each word which contains such character.

    For example I’ve to change the word O’zbek to O‘zbek in the WP editor, so that it will display correctly, like O‘zbek.

    That’s why I thought if it was possible to write a lil hack/plugin which will replace given combinations. Here they are:

    All O’, o’ and G’, g’ in a post and post title will be replaced with O‘, o‘ and G‘, g‘ accordingly.

    Can anyone write such hack/plugin?

    Plugin tests for the format

    [O|G]'[A-Z]

    In other words, O or G (case-insensitive), followed by a straight single quote, followed by any alphabetical character. Let me know if this needs to be adjusted in any way. Admittedly I know nothing of the Uzbeki language. :/

    Thank you very much! This is what I needed. I’ve posted about this plugin on my blog, hope it will be helpful for many other users too.
