auto select parent category

    when a user is using the add event page (frontend), can the category:

    1. be listed as checkboxes?

    2. can the parent category be automatically selected?
    Academic calendar
    —Summer 2015
    —Fall 2015
    —Spring 2016

    when Fall 2015 is selected, ‘academic calendar’ is also selected or when saving, it would save both.

    possible?
