Is it possible to make the update button available for non-admin users? Would be nice, because the intervention of admin would not be necessary, because auto-sync did not work reliable lately…

Could it be that it is necessary to hit the update button after plug-in update to start auto sync again?

    any updates on this?
    It’s not even working manually.
Plugin returns “updates succesfully”, but when I go check the events, the description is not updated…

manually worked for me, but cannot confirm about auto sync (no new event atm).

I have ram into the same problem. I can update with event ID but auto update gives error but says successful. I would really love to get this feature working again.

    Error: FacebookRequestException.php on line 134

Sorry, I forgot about this one …
First, the original post: too little info to go by, so error logs etc … would be nice.
Second poster: the facebook plugin needs a total rewrite (originally it wasn’t mine), because I think the facebook session expires after some time and no new one is being requested in the plugin. Since I’m not that big a fan of facebook I’ve been putting this on hold for too long. I’ll try to get cracking on this in the coming week.
Last poster: that line number is weird, which version are you using? And what facebook url do you try to sync (so I may try it here too).

Well, for me that facebook session expires after some time explains why auto sync did not when not changing a thing other that updating plugin.

It would be necessary, if it is possible for non-admin users to trigger manual sync. The sync button should be directly in menu available so that the regular settings can be left closed for these users. I strip out settings that their user role is not allowed to change, but the sync button is at the bottom of settings.

New functionality is something else ??
But I changed to the new API and such, so if someone wants to test the dev-version:
    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/eme-sync-facebook-events.zip
This version creates a long-lived session in facebook (it still expires, but it tells you when, currently it is unclear to me how to create a non-expiring facebook session or renew a long-lived session before it expires)

Well, that smiley would let me think that you know that it would not be necessary if the facebook connection would reestablish automatically ??

I cannot estimate how long that would need to be developed, but a manual sync button that is reachable for non-admin users would sync quickly, if you recognize that events don’t sync automatically, what do you think?

How does it tell that session has expired?
I have deactivated dashboard notes to non-admin users, will there be an email message or perhaps a huge crying sound?

    (@liedekef)

Nope, the smiley was because a thread concerning a “bug” is not the same as a question asking for new functionality. And believe me: I’d rather not spent any time at all on facebook, their whole API stuff is so unclear to me that sometimes I feel that I’m really stupid …
The expiration is shown when you press “update” in the settings, that’s it.
The current dev-version (don’t know when you downloaded it, but I added it some hours ago) attempts to extend the session when less than 10 days are left (but untested of course, I really wonder how other folks are doing all this …)

Thank you Franky for working on this! I have downloaded the new plugin and installed it. I’m logged into Facebook with the button and when I click “Upload” I get this error: Graph returned an error: (#100) Tried accessing nonexisting field (place) on node type (Page)

    Plugin Author Franky

    (@liedekef)

What are the pages you’re trying to sync? If they are not event pages it will not work. You need to enter the name of the page, not the complete facebook url.

    (@liedekef)

Btw: I just added the code in the dev-version so it allows complete facebook urls now (it will just strip the https://www.facebook.com/ away from the url)

    Good, when can we update?

    Plugin Author Franky

    (@liedekef)

Once you and the other person in this thread confirm that the dev-version solves the your problems …

So now I get: Error: Graph returned an error: No node specified

I’m connecting to a group Facebook page.
I have a Facebook App ID and a Facebook App Secret.

I can download a single event with no problem, but for some reason I can not get the “Add Facebook Page” to pull in all the events???
