  • 777 permissions are dangerous; set them back to 755. Ask your host if they support WordPress. Not all hosts are WordPress friendly and sometimes you need to manually update and install plugins with FTP.

    I know its dangerous but once am done with installing plugin or auto-update it then am gonna change it back to 755.

    Probs is – after you click the Install button, it just stuck and dont proceed further. You have any idea, what could be the reason?

    Oh, the Host company say – they support WordPress.

    They all say that; who is it?

    1and1.co.uk

    1and1 in the US is generally not very good. Search these forums for other people using them. At any good host, WP only needs 755 permissions and won’t have problems with auto uogrades or plugin installs. https://ukwebsolutionsdirect.co.uk is supposed to be very good.

    Though there was no problem installing the WP but only with the updates.

    Do you want to look into it? Do you use skype? or Gtalk/Gmail?

    I don’t do help like that for free.

    It’s going to be a restriction in php.ini that you can’t change. Or try

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

    in wp-config.php.
