Auto-update all fields of the same row for products

  • Assume you edit a product in the default “Price” column from WooCommerce via your bulk edit feature, to define a scheduled sale start & end date.

    Assume also that we added a column to see the Start & End date of the sale price.

    If you edit the dates in the first column, we don’t immediately see the dates in the next columns.

    Therefore, my suggestion : when you edit a product, auto-update all the data for the entire row of the product.

    In other words, for products, when we update 1 cell via the “inline edit”, then auto-update all the cells for the row. Why? Because updating 1 cell can have impact on other cells.

    Example given previously by the Start & End date of sale price.

    Exemple also for custom shortcode where updating values can have impact across multiple columns.

    So can you please provide a setting to enable, so that we can force auto-update all the cells of the same row when we edit 1 cell for a particular row ? Thanks

    Thanks for your message, but please keep in mind that the WordPress forum is not meant and not allowed for support for the pro version. Please add any future request on our forum on our website related to the pro version.

    I do however fully understand your request, and it would be indeed very useful if the whole row would be updated after a bulk update. But column are completely unaware of the other columns on the table, so in order to so such a thing we have to update every row on the table, and reinitiate all the pro logic that is already loaded.

    We have not found a way yet to do this, but this is something that is on our backlog for some time now. Unfortunately, can not give any timeframe on when or if this will be addressed.

    Maybe a workaround could be that you provide us a setting for each column/field, where we could select other fields/columns that should be updated after updating the current field.

    So when configuring the field A, we would have a search dropdown where we would select fields B, C, D to be refreshed after a bulk edit in field A.

    Thanks for the input, and it could help. But our main aim is to not have too many settings. This is a very specific need for inline editing, so I guess adding such an advanced setting will not be preferable by our UI designer ??
