    I don’t want the plugin to auto-update, how can I turn it off? I want to do plugin updates manually

  • For me it looks like a security related update with V4.x. The plugin is not always updated to the latest version (Version 4.1.5.3). Some examples what the automatic update did with older versions in the last hours:

    4.1.5.2 -> 4.1.5.3 (latest)
    4.1.4.4 -> 4.1.4.5
    4.1.2.1 -> 4.1.2.3
    4.1.0.1 -> 4.1.0.3
    4.0.17 -> 4.0.18

    But some infos or an updated changelog would be very helpful.

    Agree. The following text appears on the wp update page of websites: “Version 4.1.5.3 contains security fixes and is highly recommended for all users.”

    Hi,

    I would like to know why If I have the automatic updates of the plugin disabled, why has it been updated automatically? Any suggestion.

    Could you please help me?
    Thanks in advance!

    My guess would be that there was a major vulnerability/issue within the plugin that warranted WP to force update the plugin to the latest point revision.

    Something similar happened not too long ago with Woocommerce. All sites were auto updated to the latest point revision, regardless of whether or not auto updates was enabled/disabled.

    Hey everyone,

    The latest update does indeed contain some important security improvements, which is why it was pushed out to your websites. Only in rare cases like these can we ask your site to auto-update, even if auto-updating is disabled for the plugin.

    More detailed information about this update will be released later, but first we want to give users sufficient time to update their sites as many people are on holiday this month and spending time with family.

    Thanks @arnaudbroes for the answer, I was unaware that the plugins would update automatically even if they did not have automatic updates.
    Thanks again for taking care of wordpress security.

    I have a client who is running All in One SEO v4.1.5.3. Nice plugin. However, I followed the instructions on this page (https://aioseo.com/docs/enabling-automatic-updates-for-all-in-one-seo/) and still can’t find the settings to turn off auto updates. It shows up on other sites, but not this one. Any idea why? Thanks.
