    Hey Guy’s,
    I just clicked the auto upgrade to version 3.0 and now I get the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function add_rewrite_tag() on a non-object in /home/warnerchurch/sites/wac.dreamhosters.com/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 289

    I saw that someone advised to use ftp to update all the file except the content folder. However, I am pretty sure that I have modified other areas and I am a bit anxious about doing this. Is there any other way or am I just being melodramatic about copy over the files?

  • As long as you don’t over-write your wp-content folder, you should be fine.

    Ok, I have copied over everything but the content folder and it still will not work. So, I took a closer look at the error message and I am curious if anyone knows what the taxonomy.php file is for. Line 289 in that file is where I am running into issues.

    Here is line 289:

    $wp_rewrite->add_rewrite_tag(“%$taxonomy%”, ‘([^/]+)’, $args[‘query_var’] ? “{$args[‘query_var’]}=” : “taxonomy=$taxonomy&term=”);

    See anything wrong?

    Reset your plugins and upgrade the Podcasting Plugin by TSG to 2.3.10 before reactivating it.

    I was unable to even open the admin panel. So, I ran a search on the web and found that it was the podcasting plugin. I ftp’d in and modified the podcasting.php file and was able to open the admin panel. I then upgraded the plugin and now everything works as expected.

    Thanks for the help guy’s…

    Which is basically what my reply said to do (resetting does not require admin panel access), but you’re welcome nonetheless.
