Auto upgrading problem from 2.8 to 2.91

  • Hello there,

    Recently, I was trying to upgrade from 2.8 to 2.91. However, the problem is that, though, the website is still showing and even the admin login screen shows. But once I insert the login info, the screen disappears altogether. There is no more an admin area. Any clues on how to handle this issue please?

  • The same thing happened to me!! I have no idea how to log in to update my blog now.

    If your having access problems. You can always downgrade to the last version of WordPress that worked smoothly for you. This can be done by using FTP software. Just upload the version that works for you using the software. In many cases this will resolve a problem until a fix can be found.

    Or re-upload the 2.9.1 files through ftp from an unzipped fresh package off your local computer, but do not overwrite wp-config.php

    I was able to retrieve it by installing a fresh copy of 2.91
