Autofocus – Get more spacing between individual text lines?

Hello

I am a Newbie unleashing my ignorance on my very own website (aimeelord.com/wordpress)

I am experiencing difficulty in two areas:

1) The gallery on my front page is set to display the photos in 4 columns. In some web browsers, this is fine. In others, it shows 3 on one row, then the 4th photo on the next row which is far from attractice

2) On my émployment history’ (and other) pages, I am attempting to create more space between the heads and the first row of text, and also between each line of text, since it all looks too ‘squished’ at the moment. I have attempted to use <b> type code, and also <p> code, but I put it in there, save it, publish it, then come back and voila – it has disappeared. Are there other work-arounds for newbies like me to try?
