Hey. Love the plugin. Is there a way to disable the autoformating though? In a form field, when editing in the admin, every action editing the label results in an action changing the value. It makes it all lowercase then for whatever reason it puta a dash between the first two words.

Going to National & State Parks, Forests and Monuments.
    becomes
going-to national & state parks, forests and monuments.

I’m not really sure what the purpose of that is. No matter what you do in the title the value is updated when you lose focus on the title. So I can remove the – but it comes back if I have to touch it.

I’d like to turn that off. I tested it and it actually serves no purpose. There is no reason those values need to be lowercase and the dash serves no purpose and is basically a mystery.

I can’t send them back an email that says “Great to hear you love going-to national & state parks, forests and monuments.”
It has to say “Great to hear you love going to national & state parks, forests and monuments.” Or the value could be “national & state parks” so we can say “….perfect for national & state parks….” in other words “…perfect for [answer question #1]…”

Sorry this is so long. I hope I explained myself well. We use this a little out of the box. Great product. :))))

    Hello @shizart

    Hope you’re doing well!

I’ve tested the plugin and could not replicate this issue. Would you please let us know more information about how to replicate it?

Is it happening when editing the Form, Quizz or a Poll? What fields are being edited and it changing the Caps to lowercase?

An extension/app installed in a browser can cause this issue. Would you please try editing the files in a different browser, or in an Incognito where all extensions are deactivated?

    Please advise,

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

When you are in a form and you are editing a select box/dropdown. Add an option. Type “This is an option” in the label. The value will populate as “this-is an option”. Change the value to “This is the value for the option”. Now click in the label box again and add a period. The option will change to “this-is an option.”

    We want this:
    Label: One Week
    Value: Q1B

Its almost impossible to do and there is no undo. That feature is useless. Most of the time the Label and the value don’t match. What if I need answer one value Not a lead, answer 2, WarmLead…. But the questions is: how often do you camp? 1. Never 2. All the time.

Try it. Make a form and make a dropdown with the following label/option:
    What is your favorite color?:
    Blue/10
    Red/20
    Yellow/30

Now your boss says, same point scale but I need you to change that to Yellow, Blue, Red.

And what’s with the – ? Total mystery. I can see adding dashes to replace spaces if you had to but only doin one? That makes no sense.

    Hello @shizart

I was able to see what you mean using a Select field.
I’ve already contacted our Forminator devs about it, in order to provide their insights. We’ll keep you posted here as soon as possible.

    Thank you,

Rocking. We have a few other things that have come up, some of which your team has helped with. We put the plugin through a little more rigorous testing because we had to make a “quiz” out of a form.

    Other:
-Leading zeroes lost on zips when sent through API.
    -No phone formatting/validation whatsoever.
-We had loads of problems on the install (could be us!!) and we also have forms that are corrupt and no longer open properly in the editor.
-No captcha? I don’t see one. We are using Honeypot. Smaller prob.

Is there a way to communicate more efficiently so that we can fix some of this for both parties? I have a dev copy of our site Mo has access to or I can send.

Its hard for me to convince the accountant to pay AND help fix the plugin. Can we meet halfway? you can email [email deleted — not a good idea to post it in public]. I have a dev site and Mo helped us when we did the trial.

Also, when you guys helped us Mo or someone installed Forminator Pro (we had the free version) and now we can update without paying. I know thats the model and we respect that but no one asked. Can we work with you on that? I’m not sure what to do.

    Hello there @shizart

There’s no difference between Forminator Pro and Free, at least at the moment.
The only difference is the origin of updates. If you use the Pro version along with WPMUDEV Dashboard plugin, then updates are coming from our premium services, if you use the Free version without the Dashboard, then updates are coming from the free wp.org repositories.

We can definitely help you with any issues you’re dealing with, but as a user of the Free version, you can only use these forums here. All of the rest of our support services in our site (live chats and forums) are part of our premium WPMUDEV membership.

Finally, it’d be easier for us to have separate topics per issue, so we can better follow up and have more support staff engaging there. So please do create separate topics for each issue and let’s keep this one for the initially reported “auto-formatting values” case, for which I’ll keep you posted here if there’s any easy way to surpass it, like a filter or JS snippet.

An update on this part from our developers is that this is happening as other members had actually requested for something like this, as it’s also the way that Gravity Forms is formatting those values, while Forminator wasn’t doing it in the first place.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

    Hello there @shizart

I got some feedback from our developers and it seems that there’s no filter or hook that we could use to change the auto-formatting. The current workaround is to manually enter whatever value you desire.

    Thank you,
    Dimitris
