    Hi there!

Can you please confirm that you’ve followed the instructions in WooCommerce Services Documentation to set up the extension?

Specifically: Automated Taxes do not appear to be calculating – Documentation.

If yes, and you’re still having trouble retrieving tax, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Along with that, please share an example address where TAX is not calculated.

On “Standard” tax rates do i need to Import any CSV file? (i haven’t)

The extension should take care of updating the TAX rates for you. You don’t have to import any files.

Thank you for working with us on this.

I’ll look into this thoroughly later.

Update: I reinstalled woo services and jetpack, and checked again. I saw, on checkout page, when a customer enters an address same as my/business’ State address, automated tax calculated Tax and, it also added that customer’s zipcode etc. data on Woo>Settings>Tax>”Standard” tax rates table.

    1. So, if the customer lives in a different State, I don’t need to charge him taxes? (I have no idea how taxes work)
    2. Is my sites’ tax setup complete?

Thank you for confirming that Automated Tax rates are working as expected now.

So, if the customer lives in a different State, I don’t need to charge him taxes? (I have no idea how taxes work)

That is how the extension works, yes. Basically, if you don’t have a TAX Nexus in the location, then it does not calculate TAX.

That said, we can only help out with configuring the extension itself, and I’d recommend reaching out to a TAX professional who can confirm if it is the right process for your store.

In case you need to collect taxes in multiple locations, you can try other extensions like WooCommerce AvaTax or TaxJar

For any pre-sales questions on those extensions, please open a support request in https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/#sales-form

Is my sites’ tax setup complete?

As far as setting up WooCommerce Services goes, yes. If you’re seeing the TAX rates on the checkout page, it means the setup is complete ??

I just figured out that many states require nexus after ~100k sales. My site is not live yet. If my sales will be under 100k, then i’m good with my current Woo automated tax, right?

And, i might need to remove Woo automated and switch to AvaTax or Taxjar after i cross ~100k sales?

    My state is Oklahoma

I can understand your concerns here, but you’d want to reach out to a TAX professional for confirmation on that as they’ll be the best source of support for those questions.

What we can help you out with, is configuring the extension itself.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
