Hi Andrew,
Interlinking does improve SEO and helps users stick at your website, as it will allow you to highlight other relevant pages. What’s most important in this is that the anchor links are of true value to the context.
Currently, there are no plans for The SEO Framework to alter the content — the plugin purely focusses on feeding metadata to search engines.
Content optimization through real-time alteration for interlinking is something that’s not only distracting and disturbing when done wrongfully; it also requires a dedicated caching system when dealing with thousands of posts.
For best results, you require subject scanning and indexing thereof. Maybe even something that allows you to create a manual index that catches longtail phrases, that also allows you to either include or exclude pages from the system.
What I’m describing might already exist as a fully-fledged plugin. If not, then I’m definitely interested in making that an extension ?? It’s part of a world in automation I do still wish to join and perfect.
Nevertheless, it’s best that this is done manually, as you can then achieve perfect and more so expected results.
