    Hi!

The automatic db backup doesn’t work, dunno why as the logs are empty.
    Manual backups works as usual.

Any suggestions as to where to look?

    Best Regards

Hi, what are your current schedule backup settings? Can you also check the plugin log files.

    Thank you

    Hi again!

Sorry for the late response, my current schedule is set-up as following :
Enable Automated Scheduled Backups is checked.
Backup Time Interval is set to once a day.
Number of Backup Files To Keep is set to 10 files.

I can find two logs under plugins\all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall\logs
Both of them are empty, 0 KB.
    wp-security-log
    wp-security-log-cron-job

Hi, let me share the following information provided by one of the developers about the scheduled backups.

How the scheduled backup feature works with WordPress wp-cron functionality.

The backup time is set at the time you save the automatic scheduled backup settings. In order for the backup to trigger around the time you expect it to, you will need some kind of site activity (such as someone visiting) just after that time.

    For example:

If I’ve just configured my scheduled backup settings to do a once daily backup and saved the config now and it is currently 7:11pm at my location, then the wp-cron will be scheduled to perform a backup at around 7:11pm everyday. Which means that the next backup will be scheduled for tomorrow at approximately 7:11pm – BUT – as mentioned in my last response, if nobody visits my site till 10:30pm tomorrow, then no backup will occur at 7:11pm because there was no activity on the site just after 7:11pm to trigger the wp-cron event. What will happen is that the system will immediately trigger a backup as soon as someone visits my site anytime after the scheduled time. (In other words in this example the backup will occur at 10:30pm)

On the next day the same thing applies…..the aiowps backup is still scheduled for around 7:11pm and if I get my next visitor at 7:12pm then the backup will be performed at 7:12pm.

I hope this example makes it a bit clearer.

Let me know if the above helps you in any way.

    Regards

Hi, thank you for reaching back to me.

Does not seem to change anything, I set my schedule to every fourth hour, I got around 200 visitors a day and no backup was made yesterday.
Got anything else I can look at?

    Hi again!

I’ve been debugging for several hours without any result, no lines even remotely connected to WP Security.

I did set the backup interval to ones every hour, nothing.
Will try another backup solution to see if it’s plugin or wordpress setup related.

    Hi again!

I might have found the issue here, I installed WP Crontrol to see if the Cron is actually running correctly, it seems to work as intended.
Though I can see that no cron job for WP Security is being added to the cron job list.

I can add it manually to test but I don’t know what action to run?

Hi, that is good news. Have you also tried to contact your host in regards to this issue?

    Hi again!

I did add the cron job manually by using the hook aiowps_daily_cron_event, and it has worked since. ??

    Thanks for your help!
