    I’m a designer and an administrator of 8 WordPress sites and I use Updraft Plus on all the sites.
    I’ve been able to restore the site with UpdraftPlus many times when various sites were in crisis, so I’ve been trusting it greatly.

    Until the 23rd in November (Sydney, Australia time), they constantly backed up at about the same time (around 2 am to 5 am) every day, but since next day, most of the sites can no longer take automatic backups.

    All the sites I manage use LiteSpeed.
    I found a banner pointing out a scheduling issue with LiteSpeed on only one site, but the other site don’t have this warning banner.

    And I went to check the solution on the linked page in the warning banner.
    And I tried the code to add to .htaccess. but it didn’t work. And I don’t want to add extra codes which are not sure to work, so I stopped adding these codes so far.

    It seems the creators of the updraft seem to think LiteSpeed it self is the cause of recent “not good scheduling”.
    However I’m not thinking so because I have good example which tells me the cause of the problem is another point, so I would like to report it to you.

    That is, I manage a domain. And this domain has two WordPress sites in the sub-directries in a same public_html directry and of course use same LiteSpeed server.
    One of these sites is now under constructing site and another one is currently published site.
    And newer one is running on WordPress 5.5.3 and UpdraftPlus 1.16.41 and backup scheduling is bad.
    Older one is running on WordPress 5.5.1 and UpdraftPlus 1.16.29 and backup scheduling is quite good.

    So I was wondering if you would check the good schedule managing ability of old version of UpdraftPlus, it might make something good to solve this problem.
    I really really really hope this problem will be solved in UpdraftPlus, as I would not like to backup manually everyday in too early morning.

    Hi,

    Please could you send us a copy of the latest backup log?
    This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
    The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    I’ve started experiencing the same – no more backups. Looks like the issue is Updraftplus wants us to disable security on a host level which is absolutely absurd. Why would we do that?

    Could you describe exactly what your issue is?

    What is good scheduling and what is bad scheduling?

    We have recently made a change in UpdraftPlus free version where when you first save settings for a scheduled backup it will choose a time between 9pm and 7am as these are likely hours the site will not be in use so the backup is more likely to succeed.

    If your backups are running at the expected time but are failing then please do send the backup log so we can check why.

    Hi @maxgorky

    If you are having problems with your backup then please open your own support request and provide your backup log.

    That article you posted has nothing to do with taking backups, it’s an issue where a security rule is incorrectly being triggered when settings are saved in UpdraftPlus.

    We asked the user to work with their host to resolve it as it is not something we control.

    @aporter but you clearly asked them to disable security on a host level to make your plugin work, didn’t you?

    Thank you for your time to reply. I’m sorry for the delay to respond as I was leaving from internet after submitting this topic, and moreover, I’m not a native English writer and actually I need to so much time to write things using Google Translate. ??

    You suggested to sharing log files.

    I have some online storage spaces. But they have limits and I don’t want to continue to keep these log files forever for people who seek to way to solve this problem and reach this topic page. That is a burden to me.

    So I would like to bring the log files here. Is it possible?

    Or can UpdraftPlus provides some space to display these files so that everything usuful is public for everybody a long period?

    Alternatively, if you would like to check the log by email, I would send log files to your email address.

    Because if I place log files on a web page, I should feel sorry when it might be the broken link and so I’ll have to make an effort to keep it forever. That is a burden to me.

    UpdraftPlus doesn’t provide a private contact for Free Users.
    So I had to make a topic for the public = everybody, instead of only for me. And since then, I would like to be kind to the public on this topic page.

    You asked me, “What is good scheduling and what is bad scheduling?”

    Good for me, means automatic backup is always successfully done everyday around last backup time by clicking “Backup Now” button – as originally UpdraftPlus had been doing until 23 November on my sites, and these backups had done around 2 am to 5 am as my clicking button had done around these time.

    Bad for me, means I had set schedule as “Daily” in the Settings tab in the UpdraftPlus, but no automatic backup had done at all since then.
    Or Bad means the automatic backup had done but the timings are in the daytime and it would be affect loading time for the visitors. And in this case, I did not done backup in the middle of daytime by clicking “Backup Now” button before the automatic backups.

    And I would like to add a point to this topic now.
    When I set
    Files backup schedule: Manually
    Database backup schedule: Manually
    in the Settings tab
    then go back to Backup/restore tab in the UpdraftPlus.
    The tab shows
    Next scheduled backups:
    Files: Nothing currently scheduled
    Database: Nothing currently scheduled

    This is quite natural.

    However now when I set
    Files backup schedule: Daily
    Database backup schedule: Daily
    in the Settings tab
    then go back to Backup/restore tab in the UpdraftPlus.
    Next scheduled backups:
    Files: XXXX
    Database: XXXX
    I see around 14:00 on most of my sites in spite of I clicked “Backup Now” button around 2 am to 5 am.
    And I don’t want to UpdraftPlus doing backup in daytime.

    And there was also such a thing.
    The displayed time was before the “current time” at that time.
    Unfortunately, I forgot to take a screenshot of the scene.
    It was something like this,
    “Next scheduled backups would be ‘date of Yesterday’ 14:00 ”
    So I was surprised and felt it’s so odd.

    Anyway I should take screenshot when I see such odd indication words by UpdraftPlus next time.

    Now I would like to change the point of view to focus about code.
    As I wrote in my original message of this topic, I tried the code for .htaccess which is suggested on this page by UpdraftPlus, and the code did not work.

    The code by UpdraftPlus also even affected the process of “Manual” backup and backup process had been stopped at around 20% for so long, so I stopped the batch. So I removed the code from .htaccess and the result was I could do Manual backup.

    Before I started writing this message, I just found these ↓ [A] [B] pages, and similar pages on the web.
    And they are suggesting codes “differently” from the page about this issue by UpdraftPlus.

    I would like to share these links to all the people have this problem.
    And I would like to try one of codes on these pages after sharing logs with Bryle @bcrodua as I’m too busy to do everything at once.

    I feel the explanation of cause of problem is very easy to understand to me. As I’m not a programmer and I’m a designer. And code looks clear.
