I’m computer-illiterate so please be patient. Yesterday my site was down for an unknown reason (it was fine before then), but was back up and running as of this morning. I haven’t made any changes to it before-hand, thus I know my problem isn’t theme-related or anything. All my posts were fine until I noticed a change this morning. There are backslashes (/) everywhere where the quotation marks (“) and apostraphies (‘) are used in all my posts. They weren’t there before yesterday. Is this due to a security issue? Thanks in advance for help.

  • Sounds like something your host did to one of the “operator” programs, or possibly some change they made to the base encoding. I don’t *think* it’s a security issue, no.

Please check with your host support to see what they might have done on their end, then post back.

This is something that PHP does automatically with strings. Yeah, ask the host, it sounds like their fault.

Thanks vkaryl and reversial for your input. I really appreciate your help. It was the host’s problem after all. Thanks again!

You’re welcome! And thanks for changing this topic to resolved.
