Automatic Database Backup not working

    manual db backup works without issues. files are stored like:

    wp-content/aiowps_backups/blogid_12/g...m-database-backup-site-name-www-1398361710.zip

    but there are no automatic backups, the cronlog contains only this:

    i activated db backup on every single site within the multisite installation, but automatic backup is not working on any of those. as i can do manual backups i do not think its a filesystem permissions or php memory limit problem.

    Yes, i still cannot find any backups, except the manually ones.

    But something changed in the logs, now it contains this, no mentioning of Backups at all:

    Have you contacted your host about this issue?

    Have you tried to disable all your other plugins except this one and carried out a test?

    this is a self hosted installation.

    no i can not try to disable all other plugins.

    as i have regular database backup (automysqlbackup) this is not a top priority feature, it would just be nice to have…

    i you are sure it is just a problem on my side, just ignore it, thanks for looking into the issue!

    Hi, I just finished carrying out a test in one of my test site. This is a live server.

    The manual backup worked and so did the automatic backup. Although the automatic backup was a few hours late but that can be a server configuration or some other factor which I have not investigated.

    The reason for my reply is to share with you that the automatic backup does work in my server.

    I will mark this support thread as resolved.

    However if you feel you need to open another support thread in regards to automatic backups in the future please do so.

    is this also a multisite installation?

    i have set up automatic database on every blog with an interval of 2 days and to keep 14 Backups, and this is what i have in the backup folders:

    No, my testing website is not a Multisite installation. You have 14 backups in blogid_1.

    yes there are 14 backups in blogid_1, but i am 100% sure that these are the backups i did manually by hitting the button “Create DB Backup now”. just have a look at the file dates, they do not follow any rule.

    in blogid_1, as in all other blogs i have set to do a automatic backup every 2 days, and keep 14 Files.

    maybe the “keep files for 14 days” mechanism works, but i have never seen any automatic backup happen.
