• Hi – Your plugin is fantastic and, I believe, exactly what my friends (who I’m creating a page for) are looking for.

Since there are a lot of people involved in creating events, and many of those folks are not very computer savvy, I want to have the events set up in a Google sheet (via Google Form) and then have the event post automatically created in WordPress from that data.

How can I find out the required fields for an event?

    Thank you

    Hello,

Instead of Google Sheet, you can use Action User add-in (requires the full plugin):

    https://www.myeventon.com/addons/action-user/

Users can just create events using the front-end form instead of logging-in and so on:

Thx, I can see the advantages of that approach, but in this client’s case it would have a number of disadvantages:

    1. To prevent the public from entering events I would need to create a WordPress user account for every person allowed to submit event info. That in itself already kills the approach.
    2. I have more control for a unified look and feel if I get the data via Google Forms.

So I am just wondering, if you offered me that option b/c it seemed the better option to you (I do appreciate the option), or b/c it’s just not possible to use an automated process via Google Sheets and a generic connector?!

We have also these two add-ons:

    https://www.myeventon.com/addons/ics-importer/

    https://www.myeventon.com/addons/csv-event-importer/

With ICS Import you can schedule import from ICS file URL.

Should work in your case, I think. Please check and let me know.

Thx, the csv importer sounds like it could work. I assume it would come with a template and examples?!

Thinking about this some more still leaves me wondering … That CSV importer still requires me (i.e., “someone”) to manually upload that CSV file into your importer.

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough: I am looking for complete automation without any interaction on my or anybody else’s part after the people who are allowed to submit event info have done so.

Hence my original question and thought:

Google Form > responses to into Google sheet > plugin/Zapier automatically posts the information into WordPress.

Only manual upload with CSV Importer, unfortunately.

It seems there is no way of achieving what you need with the current functionality.
