Automatic gallery height

Simply fantastic plugin, what I have been looking for ages to improve the navigation on my portfolio page. Works brilliantly with the WP 3.5.1 but I have some issues what actually stop me from using it.

1. It is really bad that the images are cropped or expanded to fill the navigation window, as I have images with quite different aspect ratio and they are either cut off or expanded depending on the orientation. Could you incorporate just a one dimension when setting gallery – the width of gallery and the height would be automatically adjusted based on the image height, keeping the proportions of the image. Also the portrait oriented images should be centrally aligned within the window.

Here is the example of my current gallery page, main drawback is the lack of the one click navigation and proper filmstrip – but I use that because it can handle easily images with different aspect ratios.

2. Also, a really nice to have feature would be option to have 2 row filmstrip – it gives better navigation on the larger screens and people tend to focus on the pictures what are readily available and not around the corner.

If you could implement my request 1., which is really the deal-breaker at the moment stopping me to use the gallery, then I would be eternally grateful and also will happily donate for the maintenance and further development of the gallery.
