• We have a membership site with an annual billing cycle (automatic renewal).

    Is it possible for s2Member to send an automatic renewal reminder notifications — before they’re charged (using Authorize.net)?

    We’d like to have the system send them a reminder email a week or two before it’s going to be auto-charged. That way they won’t be surprised by the charge, or they can cancel before the charge happens.

    I’ve seen this requested here multiple times and have not found a resolution. Since our memberships renew automatically, there is no EOT, and we can’t use the hacks that are available.

    Caveat Emptor –

    that plugin does not work well on our clients site. We opened a support case with odd jar (the creator), he looked at it and you gave us some unhelpful feedback but it did nothing to resolve the issue. Now that its a year later and our subscriptions are starting to expire, people are getting 20-30 emails from the system saying their expiring….

    Lesson – don’t buy plugins from people whose sites don’t share public forums or reviews…

    s2 renewal reminders plugin seems to be working well for me, reminders are being sent as expected, no reports of multiple duplicate reminders etc

    one additional feature that would be helpful would be the ability to send reminders to expired (demoted) members who have not renewed after 30 days (or variable time which could be set in plugin), i think the only place demotion status is stored is on s2 notes…

    I’ve had a couple of people receiving a second email (1 day up front reminder and 7 day up front reminder) even though they paid in the meantime (and the payment was properly registered). Dunno why this happens – but I think it’s like in 5-10% of cases only.

    Never (except for caching errors) did it send more than 2 emails though..
