…as in topic stoped to work somewhere between WordPress 3.7 – 3.7.1 by the looks of it, in addition, with automatic smushing on upload enabled I am unable to upload any image at all, it just hangs for ages without processing an upload.

Can only smush images when they are already in media folder.

Using latest WordPress and Smush-it versions and no changes on server were made at any time, no cashing plugins either.

    Any ideas?

  • @kramarz,

Hi. Please go to Settings > Media. In the Smush.it section please make sure you do not have the debug option enabled.

    @kramarz,

Me again. I just tried on a fresh Multisite install running WP 3.7.1 and was able to process 100 images uploaded in a matter of a few seconds. not seeing an issue.

To help debug please provide more information about your setup.

    Well mate,

    What you need?

What I’m getting when I’m trying to upload an image as ‘Add Media’ to a page is either just hangs without processing or ‘ERROR – An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.’

The ‘funny’ thing is that when ‘ERROR’ shows image gets uploaded and smushed actually, just can’t add it to page cause it says error and shows as not uploaded. Only closing upload window and using ‘Add Media’ again allows me to insert this ‘error-uploaded’ image to a page.

And when I’m adding image through media library itself there’s no problem, but it’s FAR from being fast.

Please try to add an image to a page/post with uploading it through there, and see if that works for you.

And let me know what kind of info you need from me to target an issue.

    Regards

I see “ERROR: posting to Smush.it” message for many images in the Media Library list (without debug set in Settings). With debug mode on, attempted to upload image & get “ERROR: [filename] An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

Same as above, the image appears to have been uploaded (thumbnail shows in Media Library) but can’t add it to page unless closing out and trying again. Images that are already uploaded do seem to smush OK when it’s done one by one within the Media Library.

    Hi All,

    Sorry about the delay here.

Can you let me know if the media upload path has been changed? If so how was it done? A define in the wp-config, something else?

Are you using a CDN at all?

Please advise ?? I’ve just tried this on a fresh 3.7.1 single site install and can’t replicate the above problems.

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards
    Jack.
