Automatic update in player detail with new season

  • Hi,

    new season started and I realised, that player detail – stats section – is not automatically updated. I submitted new match event and I presume that this match will be automatically displayed in players stats. However I had to go to player detail and manually tick checkboxes for current season and select team for current season. Why, while player played matched in specific season and team?

    Is there any option how to add new season on player stats overview automatically?

  • This is a good question. I have had this problem year in year out especially i have to tick manually one by one more than 300 players every season

    Hi guys!

    That’s a good question. I’m not the dev responsible for this particular feature, but as far as I can see there are many cases where users want to add players to events and not assign them to that team for the entire season. For this reason we can’t automatically set this, so users will have full control over that.

    In addition, in the Pro version you can create sub-seasons, which adds an extra layer of complexity here as you need to tell which team that player was for each part of the season.

    But as always, we are open to suggestions. In addition, as SportsPress is open source, you can create your own code snippet to auto-assign players to a team for each season once an event is published, using WordPress hooks.
