Automatic update issue

I would like to use the automatic update feature for WordPress. I am currently running 3.1.2, which I updated manually a few weeks ago from 2.86. I was hoping to not have to update manually each and every time, but I’m still running into the same problem. I’ve researched this issue and have not come up with a solution that has worked for me. The error message I receive is:

Unable to locate WordPress root directory

The url for the site is https://factorintalent.com/pragmaticleaderblog

I’ve read solutions that involve insuring using the correct User Name and Password on the Connection Information Screen. I am using the same User Name and Password successfully in FileZilla. So what’s up?
