Using WordPress Automatic Upgrade 1.2.2 to do the latest upgrade. Now my blog is unavailable due to being stuck in Maintenance Mode. Techie Buzz has included a nice link on the Maint. page – however he provides no support for this issue. How can I manually reset whatever needs to be reset to get out of maintenance mode?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    1. Login to your site using FTP.
    2. Delete the index.php file.
    3. Rename the index.php.wpau.bak file to index.php

Performing these steps should remove the maintenance mode message.

I say ban Techie Buzz until he corrects the spelling of “inconvinience” in his plug in. My grief would have been bearable and my Forum searches fruitful if I had simply searched with that atrocious spelling… and my blog online long ago.
