Hello, I tried updating my blog(lilcube.com/blog) to 2.8 with the automatic update plugin and needless to say it failed. First time in probably 10 total uses of the automatic update plugin. Anyway my blog appears to be intact but when I try to go to the dashboard I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: esc_url() in /home/lilcube/public_html/blog/wp-includes/class.wp-styles.php on line 105

Tried to use the backups I made via phpmyadmin, get errors on that as well. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • I did the automatic update for 2.8 and my dashboard looked fine, made a post but could not enter any tags(very strange), then I published the post.

Next day went into my admin and the dash board is all messed up. It looks nothing like the previous one.

Here’s a Youtube video of what my dashboard looks like.

    Thanks, Jordy1

jordy1 – Same issue here too. I looked at your video and said, thank-god someone else with GoDaddy.com hosting and WP 2.8 install with the same issue. There is another thread here with this issue:

Anyone figure this out yet? One suggestion was changing permissions to 755, but it doesn’t work. If you use IE8 you can see the wp-admin page, but any other browser, it looks like it’s missing some CSS.

I am also getting this error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_site_admin() in /home/justfixi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sem-google-analytics/sem-google-analytics-admin.php on line 20

I am a techno phobic, and so hoping someone can please help me with fixing this, i can not see my dashboard!!
