• Hi,
So far I’ve kept up with every update to wordpress withouth any issues. However, the last update to version 4.1 failed.

The site was down for several minutes with no feedback to the admin screen, where normally you can see the progress in the admin screen.

After a few minutes luckily it rolled back to the previous version, but before I try again. I’d like to know if there are known issues with this update and if these will be addressed.

I am currently using version 4.0.1 with the tamron-noise theme.

  • I’ve had exactly this same issue. And as a big warning, I’ve seen a few people get stuck in limbo land where the site DOESN’T roll back to a previous version. So if you’re experiencing problems I’d suggest holding fire on the ‘update’ button for now.

I’ve been told to upgrade manually – easier said than done when you’re on a one-click install and have no developer knowledge yourself! If this turns out to be a common issue and there’s some easier solution than hiring someone specifically to manually update WordPress, I’m all ears.

@jerrith – no there are no known issues, and MANY people have updated without problems. A few others have run into problems but have gotten them sorted out and the site updated. Have you checked with your theme developer about compatibility? And also any plugins you are using? Aside from that, it may have just been a fluke, so I’d suggest trying it again. Always good to have a back-up of your site before updating.

@drunkenwerewolf – if you need additional help, please start your own thread as per the forum guidelines.
