Automatic URL conversion

I am using the Automatic URL conversion extension. Is there a way to create a shortcode or code in the program to replace the “Link Text” that currently shows the URL and replace it with a letter, such as “R” (for reference) or a number such as “1” or even the word “Link”?

I do not want to have the link text display the actual URL.

Everything else with the Extension is great.
