Automatic user account creation doesn’t work

Thanks for reaching out!

If I understand you correctly after a customer placed an order, their account is automatically created and then they should get an email with a link to that new account, right?

Furthermore, these options under WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy are also enabled, correct?

Can you please check under Guest Checkout that the option Allow customers to place orders without an account is disabled so that this would trigger the automatic account creation?

Having these options above, a new account was generated after I placed an order on my personal site and this is the email I received:

I understand that you’ve deactivated unnecessary plugins to check whether this is being caused by them, however, to no avail.

Can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled, create a test order and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

Thanks for sharing the requested information above.

This is quite strange that even after disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and switching to the default Storefront theme, creating a test order did not automatically created a new account on your site, correct?

Can you please confirm as well if you’ve tried to clone your site to a staging environment for us to check if the issue is host-related?

Furthermore, can you please check with your hosts if there are any server logs that might be relevant to this issue?
