• I have a new client who has over 800 posts & pages, none of which have metatags, keywords, etc. It will take a VERY long time to go through EVERY single page/post to manually add this important SEO info. Is there a way to have this done automatically or at least semi-automatically, based on the content of each page/post? I dont mind if I have to get a plugin (free or paid), but this needs to be done ASAP.

  • You could try All-in-one SEO pack plugin and configure the options in settings – should work perfectly

    Yoast is also a good option – https://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/

    These only seem to generate the data for NEW pages/post, not those that already exist.

    I use All in One Seo Package for this. They add the meta tags directly according to your title and page keywords and so. Its a pretty good feature and saves you the time from adding one by one.

    I actually have already installed All In One SEO, but it is not generating anything for EXISTING pages. Works fine for NEW though. Did I set it up wrong? Any tips?
    BTW, thanks for your anwsers ya’ll!

    Have you tried selecting all posts / pages and doing a bulk action “edit” > apply, then just hitting “update”?

    I did that for tags yes, but I see no SEO options in the bulk action options.

    Im not sure you’ll have to (edit SEO options for each post) – just tick the box up the top that selects all posts, then select edit from the bulk actions drop-down, then click apply. Should present you with a panel of all posts selected. Just hit “update” on the right had side and it should update all posts.

    Note: this is untested, just thinking that the posts just need to be updated for the new SEO plugin to take effect on them, seeing as it works for new posts.

    Sorry, that didnt work.

    Have you got a URL you can show?

    If you look at the options – you will see the plugin will auto generate meta keywords for POSTS (not pages) and auto generate meta descriptions for both

    Not sure how that will help you.
    I do have the auto-generate descriptions option selected, it just doesnt actually do it.

    Im getting similar to this on posts:

    <!-- All in One SEO Pack 1.6.15.2 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Designob_start_detected [-1,-1] -->
    <meta name="description" content="In Volume: 2 Edition: 1 Newsletter you will see the results of our efforts for the Special Olympics Penguin Plunge Charity Drive, as well as other events and" />
    <meta name="keywords" content="ccc newsletters" />

    And this simliar to this on pages:

    <!-- All in One SEO Pack 1.6.15.2 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Designob_start_detected [-1,-1] -->
    <meta name="description" content="Classy Catering Creations Menu Planning Service delivers fully personalized menu plans to your email inbox weekly or monthly. Each email includes a complete ..." />
    <meta name="keywords" content="meal,meal planning,meal services,meal planning services,classy catering creations" />

    Im seeing descriptions and keywords generated by AIOSEO on every page I click on??

    Ok, I see that to, but none of this displays in the WP dashboard on the posts or pages. For me this is notan issue since I KNOW the info is there. but for my client it is an issue. He is a “if I cant see it its not there” kind of guy.
    LOL
