Automatically add video thumbnail for custom field not working

Is this plugin still supported? It no longer finds the video thumbnail when creating a new post using front end submission. I am using WP-types with their CRED front end submission and when I submit a post using that the post saves fine as does the video link in the custom field but Video Thumbnails wont automatically generate a thumb. If I manually add a post from the admin it works just fine. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
