Hi there! We are constantly having to monitor the cache directory for this plugin, as there doesn’t seem to be any automated process for purging it. Just tonight, I had to clear a cache directory that was 24GB in size, running the latest version:

    Version 1.11.4-pro

Let me know if you have plans to add a purge feature , or better, if the feature already exists, how I might be able to turn it on. Thanks! ??

  • I beg you to add a clear cache button in your plugin – we just installed it, used it for one day and there were 30+ folders added – each with a single php file inside.

I wouldn’t have even known this issue existed were it not for WordFence flagging the changed files.

    Thank you!

@heydonovan it’s a more complex issues, it’s related to google crawlers. We have some code in place in version 2.0 to automatically modify the robots.txt file to stop the crawling.
If you tell me the address of the calendar page i can tell you what to add to the robots.txt.
If you want to upgrade to 2.0 ( which basically requires much less processing power and memory ) please contact our website for help on upgrading as some things have changed and remember perform backups before upgrading.

@asaracena what version are you using?

I just downloaded it yesterday so I assume it’s 2.1.9 (and using latest version of WordPress – 4.0.1). I cleared the cache using FTP and doing this totally trashed the calendar – there was nothing left but the one event we posted – and that was only a paragraph. The entire calendar format was just gone.

I’ve uninstalled it for now. If you have a suggestion please let me know. My partner really liked that calendar.

exactly what did you clear?Because we have a cache folder which ships with the plugin where pre compiled twig templates are stored. You could try to delete the folder with ftp and re-copy it

Since I was getting too many messages from WordFence like this:

I just deleted everything in the cache folder never thinking that there would be files necessary for the calendar to function in there. After reading your message I assume that the twig folder should not have been deleted.

The Twig folder should not be deleted but it shouldn’t also be written by our plugin.
Actually it should be written only if AI1EC_DEBUG is set to true otherwise it should just be used by twig for reading templates. Were the files being written every time?

For the two days that your plugin was installed I received messages from WordFence. These are the files that were changed:

Unfortunately I didn’t save these files so I don’t know what the changes were as I lost patience and uninstalled the plugin. Still seems odd that they were changed if they are only templates.

I will try to install wordfence and see what’s happening here.
In any case i wouldn’t see any security issue here, but let’s try to see what’s happening might be a bug we have with Twig

That would be good news – if it’s only a bug with Twig I would consider using the calendar on at least two of my sites. Thanks for your reply.

I’m installing the Free version, have you got the free version or the paid version?

One more questions, in the two days did you ever set AI1EC_DEBUG to true?

Used the free version – out of the box, no alterations. No idea how to set AI1EC_DEBUG to true.

What platform is your hosting using? Is it a Windows hosting or Linux?Because we had an error which recompiled templates but only on Windows platform.

Our hosting is Linux on Godaddy.

Hi, i’ve been running WordFence for a while but it reported nothing. I think that there is no security issue, the worst it could be is that, for some reasons, our plugin is not using cache at it should, but it’s just compiling twig templates, nothing more
