• my blog (kingdomjofjoga.com) has 10,000+ entries

(all migrated from my former wordpress.com blog in december 2017).

i had thought i had set all my WP entries to open ‘block editor’ by default as i continued to update this new blog with daily entries, but i’ve noticed that a few older blog entries still open up to ‘classic editor’ (which i have the WP plug-in for).

the only time i ever use the ‘classic editor’ is so that i can add a 2nd line to my titles. i use the “page title splitter” WP plug-in in classic editor to mark line breaks in the post title. the plug-in also enables me to eliminate “protected” or “private” at the beginning of my post titles by just setting the ‘page title spitter’ after the last letter even for single-line titles. makes it look less cluttered when i’m privately browsing the site.

(that’s the only way i’ve figured out how to add multiple lines to ‘post titles’ btw. other plug-ins like “secondary title’ didn’t work for me. if anyone has an easier way of doing it please lmk. id be eternally grateful to not have to switch to ‘classic editor’ on every post!)

but to the original question, how can i get all posts to open in block editor by default? seems like a good chunk of the ones migrated from the wordpress.com blog still open in ‘classic’. thx!

You could remove the “classic editor” plugin. Then, the old posts will open with the content in a “classic block”.

thanks. until i can figure out how to make titles with line breaks in the block edit, i have to use the ‘classic editor’ a lot. a lot of the post titles are…

    “XXX”
    (1984)

    instead of “X” (1984)

is there a way in block editor to insert line breaks on post titles? the ‘secondary title’ plugin doesn’t work for me but it seems like there has to be some simple way to do this i haven’t figured out.
