Automatically populate form fields

Advice needed.

I need to populate form fields based on data entered in previous field. If possible using something like AJAX.

Lets presume I have a selection box of auto manufacturers. The client selects “Ford” the next select box then needs to be populated with all the “Ford” model names.

Any Help will be appreciated.
